2023.06 Dr Bing Sun, as member of the organizing committee, organized and held the 2023 First Global Carbon Governance Forum in Shanghai

During the first "Shanghai International Carbon Neutral Expo 2023", the first Carbon Governance Forum 2023 was held in Shanghai on June 11. The forum focused on cutting-edge issues such as dual carbon governance and urban sustainable development, combing international experience, accelerating practical innovation, issuing technical standards, and serving carbon-neutral technological innovation and industrial transformation through a diversified stage of "carbon governance".

The event was jointly organized by more than 10 institutions, including China Forestry Group, Fudan University, China Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Manchester Innovation Development Centre, Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange, and Shanghai Sustainable Development Research Association, and was exclusively hosted by the Carbon Governing Tech Ltd (a venture incubated by the China-UK Carbon Digital Lab).

Dr Sun Bing, the executive director of the lab, noted that carbon neutrality is an energy transformation, an industrial restructuring, and a technological revolution, and the landing of carbon neutrality urgently needs to update more technological breakthroughs and business revolutions. Subsequently, a series of white papers and standards on "Carbon governance" were jointly released with strategic partners.
